Lincoln

The 2012 Steven Spielberg documentary on the last few months of the Civil War was a phenomenal hit. Gaining Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations this film was a big hit for Spielberg. Spielberg in 2011 did a film like this, "War Horse", which also gained love by many. This film stars Academy Award winners Daniel Day Lewis, Sally Field, and Tommy Lee Jones, all of which got nominations for acting in this film at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. Daniel Day Lewis was the only one that won in his category, beating out stiff competition Hugh Jackman(Les Miserables), and Bradley Cooper(Silver Linings Playbook). The film, including the three acting nominations, got 12 nominations(the most number of nominations for that year), at the 85th Academy Awards, although only winning two(Best Actor, Best Production Design). The music received a well deserved nomination for Best Original Score, which was composed by John Williams, something Spielberg normally does. The film had dashes of comedy, though mostly a drama. It is one of the best films of 2012 honestly, and therefore I give it an 8/10.
