I'm sorry I have not blogged anything in a while. But here is my review of The Prestige.

The Prestige

The Prestige is a 2006 film about two rival magicians in 1900's England. After one performance goes bad, they become rivals and start rivaling magic shows. But when obsession and hatred become reality, they start doing things that they can't take back. This film is directed by Inception director Christopher Nolan. The directing in this film is very good, and I still don't know how he did many of the things he did in this movie. The writing, also done by Nolan, was magnificent! The writing had many twists and turns, and it still takes lots of thought, but it is worth purchasing and watching again and again. Although based on a novel, the movie's screenplay was amazing, and the magnificence of this film can only be shown in this area, the visual effects area, and the acting area. The visual effects were astounding! They made the impossible, seem possible, and the magic, seem real! Now to the acting. The film stars as its two rival magicians, Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Michael Caine, starring along side Christian Bale again in a Christopher Nolan film after "Batman Begins", plays Cutter, a man who makes the magic tricks. Scarlett Johansson plays Olivia, the stunning assistant. The film also stars Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, Piper Perabo, and David Bowie. The film was altogether stunning, so I give it a well deserved 9/10.
